This is one of my experiences as a basketball umpire at SZTU, and I felt privileged to participate in this competition, where both teams performed admirably. To my astonishment, I made a mistake when some spectators argued that my judgment was not entirely fair. I did my best, but I overlooked some minor fouls that I didn’t fully consider as infractions. This likely caused some spectators to question my competence, but engaging in disputes with them was not an option, as I lacked the authority to do so.
In the end, I still completed the entire competition, and all the athletes expressed their appreciation to me and my partner, the other umpire. It was an excellent opportunity for me to hone my judgment skills, and I hope to handle such challenges even better in the future.
